The welfare of students is our main priority, and our experienced management teams provide a warm and supportive atmosphere that encourages a ‘home from home’ experience, enabling students to develop confidence, self-awareness and valuable life skills.
Our management teams take responsibility for every aspect of summer school life, ensuring students are happy and engaged in the programme, as well as making sure the courses run smoothly and safely.
House Parents look after the boarding houses, ensuring students have a happy and rewarding stay. They create a community, supporting students within the boarding houses, at meal times and during break times. They are approachable and caring, and offer a friendly face to students and attend to any welfare needs.
All of our classes are taught by our professional teaching team, who are all qualified to British Council standards. Our teachers have a genuine desire to work with international students and are passionate about the subjects they teach. Outside of the classroom, teachers assist with social, activity and excursion programmes, as well as the general welfare of students.
Activity Leaders are responsible for running the Activity Programme and the Excursion Programme. The Activity Leaders ensure that the students are having fun, making friends and practising their English.
College Mentors support and assist our students throughout their stay at the college. They help organise and run the college’s social events and excursions, provide information on Oxford, Cambridge and London and are always available to assist students with any needs. Our College Mentors are experienced, approachable and caring, ensuring that all students get involved in the life of the college, while encouraging them to practise their English as much as possible.
With dedicated staff for each aspect of the summer programmes, our staff are responsible for students 24 hours a day. Summer Boarding Courses is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We have a comprehensive Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and procedures in place which all employees, volunteers and contractors are expected to adhere to.
