SBC travels to Nepal

Thom Jones, Principal of Summer Boarding Courses’s Cambridge College International Summer School, has been invited to Nepal by audience members of a workshop he gave earlier in the year.

From this invitation Summer Boarding Courses, have put together a programme of visits between now and the summer spanning some unusual destinations and a lot of interesting projects. In light of the devastating earthquakes earlier this year, and the obvious problems they have caused, Nepal is an excellent place to start.

Thom will take part in a training programme organised by Kathmandu University and Nepal English Language Teachers Association (NELTA) in coordination with the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL), Teacher Training & Education (TTED) and SIG.

SBC Director Will Finlayson said: “Sending staff to various corners of the globe, is an exciting new prospect for SBC. Spreading knowledge through teacher training workshops and school visits, whilst also learning from these experiences, will return with great new ideas and experiences which can then be poured into their summer programmes.”
