Thom completes charity bike ride

Cambridge College Principal Thom Jones has completed a gruelling bike ride for charity.

Thom and Julian Sayarer, a round the world cyclist, travelled from Ty Newydd in Wales to Birmingham, via Manchester, completing a total distance of just over 360km in four days.

They slept by the roadside each night, living off a strict diet of cake and cups of tea!

Thom raised nearly £5,000 for IATEFL projects and arrived to be greeted welcomed by the mayor of Birmingham at the start of the prestigious international conference.

Earlier in April, he swapped the cycling Lycra for the warmer climate of Malta, to deliver a series of academic training workshops for teachers across the island.

The sessions took place in the august surroundings of the National Chamber of Commerce in Valetta and were attended by well over 100 teachers from schools, academies and institutes across the country.
