Oxford College Summer School is located at two Oxford University College campuses: Wycliffe Hall and St Hugh’s Colleges.

Both of the campuses are a short walk into the centre of the historical city of Oxford. These fantastic and inspiring campuses at Oxford College Summer School gives students the opportunity to experience what it is like to live and study at one of the world’s best universities.

Academic Programme

Our Oxford College Summer School academic programme is designed to help students develop their subject knowledge and English language skills as they prepare for further study.

Our students receive 41 hours tuition over 2 weeks. This consists of 30 hours subject-specific tuition, 8 hours of University Preparation and 3 hours of London Academic Excursions.*

Students can choose to study one two-week course from 11 different options or opt to study two of the 11 Elective courses, one per week which is part of Academic Discovery.

*Please note: Foundation English students receive 38 hours of academic tuition and one 3 hour academic excursion during their two week course. Foundation English students do not have University Preparation.

University Preparation

An integral part of the Academic Programme at Oxford College Summer School is to help students prepare for academic success at university.

Students will have 8 hours of additional University Preparation, which includes a series of study skills seminars and guest speaker lectures, which aim to assist students in achieving success in their future academic studies. In addition, students are provided with advice and guidance on how to apply to UK universities.

All students receive a Guest Speaker lecture in their chosen Elective, and are able to choose 3 options from the following Seminars:
Debate Society and Public Speaking, Academic Writing, Speaking Exam Preparation, Preparation for Critical Thinking & Aptitude Tests, Lecture Skills and IELTS Preparation.
