Oxford College (Ages 15-17)

Oxford College Summer School students live and study in the famous university city of Oxford. Known as the City of Dreaming Spires, Oxford is famous around the world. For over 800 years it has been home to the foremost academic minds leading scientific and cultural studies.

Oxford College Summer School courses are specifically designed for international students aged between 15 and 17 years of age. Courses teach English through the study of specific academic subjects and prepare students for further study or professional life in their chosen field. The English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses include a dynamic range of different subject specialities, preparing students for life at a leading English speaking university. The courses combine a comprehensive academic curriculum with an engaging social programme, all within the inspiring settings of Oxford.

Oxford College accommodation is based across three campuses, two of which are used for teaching.

Oxford College – ESP Academic Subject Courses

Our academic courses are designed to help students develop subject knowledge and English language skills as they prepare for further study.

Our students receive 20 hours of tuition each week in their chosen subject. This consists of classroom-based lessons, guest speakers, workshops and one academic excursion to London every two weeks. Students on the following courses will be accommodated in Oxford University accommodation at either Wycliffe Hall or University College Annexe: Medicine, Engineering, Business & Leadership, Natural Sciences, Politics & Economics.

Oxford College – General English

General English students live at Wychwood. The course is designed to help students develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills as they prepare for further study in English.

Our students receive 20 hours of tuition each week. This is made up of classroom-based lessons, guest speakers, workshops and one academic excursion to London every two weeks.

Social and Wellbeing Programme

Our social and wellbeing programme provides opportunities for students to exercise, relax, be creative and re-energise outside of the classroom. Activities include museum visits, punting, sports tournaments, yoga and art workshops.

Wellbeing

Our wellbeing programme offers the opportunity to relax, spend time with fellow students and explore Oxford.

Evening Events

Our showpiece evening events bring students from the whole College together for a series of inspiring activities.

Excursions

The excursion programme offers students the opportunity to explore other famous UK destinations including London.

The Oxford College Summer School is operated by Summer Boarding Courses Ltd who contracts with Wycliffe Hall, University College and Wychwood for the use of the facilities, but has no formal connection with The University of Oxford.
