Academic Programme

Our academic programme at Wellington College consists of 15 hours tuition per week. Tuition is delivered through a combination of classroom based lessons, workshops and guest speakers. At the end of each week students will give a Time to Shine presentation to showcase their learning from the week and to further develop their presenting skills in English.

Leadership

All Summer Boarding Courses at Wellington College students will undertake 10 hours of leadership development each week. The leadership programme is designed to give students the opportunity to develop key leadership skills including reflection, creativity, inspiring others and decision-making.  Through a combination of lectures, practical workshops and reflection students will begin their journey to becoming the leaders of tomorrow.

The programme recognises that there are two key branches to good leadership – a clear sense of self and the ability to bring others with you. Students will be guided to reflect on their purpose, values, what they want to achieve and what kind of leader they aspire to be.

Time to Shine

At the end of their course, all students will deliver a group presentation as part of their Time to Shine project. The presentation is designed to showcase their learning from the previous week, and build their confidence to present in English.

Social Programme

The social programme comprises of wellbeing activities, evening events and excursions.  The programme gives students the opportunity to relax and enjoy time with their new friends from around the world.

Wellbeing

The wellbeing programme enables students to make use of Wellington College’s superb facilities.  Students can choose from a wide range of activities including sports, drama, music and art.

Evening Events

The evening events programme brings all of our students together for a whole academy activity. These memorable events include international night, sports tournaments and graduation on the final evening.

Students will have the opportunity to visit and explore nearby cities and attractions including London, Oxford and Thorpe Park.
